The Brass Group Foundation

Organizes and manages a permanent orchestral complex, called the "Sicilian jazz orchestra".

The Brass Group Foundation, which is based in Palermo, in two of the most prestigious monumental sites in the city - the Monumental Complex of S. Maria dello Spasimo (XVIth Century and Regio Teatro S. Cecilia (XVIIth Century) - pursues without ends profit, the diffusion of twentieth century art and musical culture.
Organizes and manages a permanent orchestral complex, called "Sicilian jazz orchestra", specialized in the execution of contemporary music.
It promotes and manages a study center with a library, newspaper library, tape library, video library, called the "Brass Group Jazz Museum", open to public use; provides for the professional training of its artistic and technical cadres and for the musical education of the community through the "Popular Music School".
The parliament of the Sicily Region has recognized the The Brass Group Foundation as the primary instrument for the production and diffusion of the art and musical culture of our time, with particular attention to Jazz and African American derivation music and has passed the law n. 5 of 1st February 2006 establishing the same foundation.
